A Detailed Introduction To Batteries

Introduction:

A battery can be defined as a box or container which consist of a surrounding protection in which one or more than one cells are present. The structure is favorable for electro chemical reactions.  The function and purpose of a battery is to convert chemical energy into electrical energy by mean of a chemical reaction and that electrical energy is used as a source of Electric power.

The function of a battery is to produce electrons which are generated as a result of chemical reaction. The electrical energy which is produced and preserved by the batteries is used as a power source for many of our daily life appliances. Car batteries Brisbane play an important role in power management products. A battery contain a Positive terminal and a Negative terminal which help to indicate the proper connection of a battery to its source demanding appliance or system.

There are different types of batteries depending upon size and functionality. But generally batteries are classified into three categories:

  • Primary batteries
  • Secondary batteries
  • Dry batteries

Primary batteries:

Primary batteries are the disposable kind of batteries. Which means that the batteries which cannot be reused. This is because of the chemical reaction which take place in the batteries are not reversible. These batteries after completing their maximum potential reaction become useless and cannot be recharged. Such batteries are generally compact in size which allow us to use them as portable batteries.

Secondary Batteries:

These are the kind of batteries which can be reused once after the whole electric energy is consumed. These batteries are rechargeable so we can conclude that the chemical reaction which take place in secondary batteries are reversible. These batteries once drained are connected to an external electric source which charge the cells and prepare them to perform the chemical reaction again. Such batteries lasts long and can be reused for a long time

Dry Batteries:

These batteries are generally bigger in size and usually last longer and are normally rechargeable but the mechanism of the chemical reaction is different. The electrochemical reaction which take place in dry batteries is reversible.

Uses:

Batteries play a vital role in functionality of every electrical appliance whether they are movable or static. One of the most important benefits of batteries is that they are a basic component of functionality in our auto-mobile industry. When it comes to RV’s, Camper batteries are a lifesaving tool for us as they are generally plugged to a power source at home and are charged for use. Once charged these batteries are connected to RV’s and camper vehicles and serve as a power source for all the appliances and also provide a power for vehicle itself.

R&J Batteries is one of the fastest growing battery company in Australia which was established in 1996. The company has a strong good will with over 20 company-owned stores which provide a complete battery range of Automotive, commercial, motorcycle, marine, deep cycle, solar and industrial batteries.
